STRANGE BEHAVIOR screening 10.24.10

Greetings from the Third Floor!

This week we're continuing our Shocktober Teenage Horror Series with one of our all-time favorites:

STRANGE BEHAVIOR (AKA Dead Kids)

...
This is a really nice one from Down Under, (although set in the good ol' U.S.ofA.) which, despite the body-count, is not so much a out and out slasher as it is a really atmospheric and sinister scifi thriller. Altman regular Michael Murphy is the sheriff of some small mid-western town where the kids are beginning to act really
weird. And kill each other. Bad news. Does it have something to do with the behavioral experiments going on at the university? Well, yes, of course they do (duh) but that's only half the fun in this delightfully bizarre picture from 1981.

Produced by the same team who Brought us Ozploitation Classics Harlequin, Patrick, and Turkey Shoot, this gem also features Dan Shor (TRON), a decidedly drowsy-looking Louise Fletcher (Nurse Ratched), a scorching Tangerine Dream Soundtrack, and unforgettably, THE SINGLE BEST PARTY SCENE IN MOTION PICTURE HISTORY.

(Seriously, if for nothing else, come for the party scene, and if you still really want to leave, that's fine but I feel as though I'd be doing something inhumanely wrong if I didn't encourage you to at least see that part.)
